Who is Jesus?
David said “Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised, and His greatness is unsearchable” (Psalm 145:3). We can spend the rest of our lives searching Scripture and what it says about God but we will never get to the bottom of things. While the greatness of God is unsearchable, God is knowable. That’s where Jesus comes in. He was “God with skin on.”
- The Bible clearly teaches that Jesus was and is God himself (John 1:1–4). There is no beginning or end to Him.
- Jesus, who is God, became a man (John 1:10–11). Jesus voluntarily left heaven to come to Earth and walk among us (Philippians 2:5–8).
- While Jesus veiled His deity, He never voided it (John 1:14). Jesus was God in human form (Philippians 2:7–8).
- Jesus was fully God and fully man (Hebrews 4:15). He experienced all the physical limitations of a human body, as well as a full range of human emotion, yet He did not sin (Hebrews 2:17–18).
If you feel unnoticed and unloved today, think about what Jesus has done for you and about His love for you. He is fully aware of everything you’re going through. Jesus has walked in your shoes and cares about what you care about. He is never too preoccupied or too busy to take time for you.
What are you facing right now that needs God’s intervention? The Bible tells us to “come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16). You can come to Him with your needs today.
Why did God create you? To have a personal relationship with Him, through His Son, Jesus Christ. How do you start a relationship with God?
Realize You Are A Sinner.
No matter how good a life we try to live, we still fall miserably short of being a good person. That is because we are all sinners. The Bible says, “No one is good—not even one.” We cannot become who we are supposed to be without Jesus Christ.
Recognize Jesus Christ Died On The Cross For You.
The Bible tells us that “God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” This is the Good News, that God loves us so much that He sent His only Son to die in our place when we least deserve it.
Repent Of Your Sin.
The Bible tells us, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away.” The word repent means to change our direction in life. Instead of running from God, we can run toward Him.
Receive Jesus Christ Into Your Life.
Becoming a Christian is not merely believing some creed or going to church. It is having Christ Himself take residence in your life and heart. Jesus said, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in . . .” If you would like to have a relationship with Christ, simply pray this prayer and mean it in your heart.
“Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and life. I confess You as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. Amen.”
